Reversing the process

And now - the unpacking. We've managed to empty a whole four boxes so far (the contents of the filing cabinet). The bookshelves are now mostly back together, too, which means we can start in on the boxes of books.

The actual day of moving really wasn't so bad, looking back on it. Having professional removers means that you don't actually get to shift boxes much yourselves. So we watched them load lorries, and then one of us stood at the front door with the checklist and told them where to put the boxes when they came off the lorries. I like this process a whole lot better than roping in friends with cars, or trying to move all one's worldly goods in a shopping trolley. OK, it costs more, but then last time we moved we didn't have a piano, a sofa, or quite so many damn books involved...
