Time Event
8:57a
9:13a
Okay, I haven't been able to make the sms_to_lj gateway accept long or multiple messages, so I apologise in advance for the likely number of short messages cluttering up your friendslist today ;)
9:26a
"It's a protest event, and I'm wearing a protest T-shirt." - rotwang, in one of his Status Quo shirts.
10:41a
rotwang is doing a good impersonation of a pack pony. knew it was a good idea to bring him along.
12:09p
my goodness this is a big queue. very very very big queue. still, the gay pride march over the road has good music.
12:12p
have seen one tout so far, someone was about to pay him over 200 quid for a ticket. sick.
12:34p
queue is not moving significantly and the police are getting stressed. still 1500m from gate, allegedly. not sure if we'll get in by 2.

one of the coppers: anyone got a good singing voice? some of us are bored...
1:29p
Posted using sms_to_lj...
biggest cheer of the day so far - someone arrested the evangelist who was working the crowd.

Posted using sms_to_lj...
can someone tape u2 for me? not convinced we'll be seeing them....
2:13p
Posted using sms_to_lj...
still in bloody queue. missing u2. would like to strangle organisers who thought it possible to get 150000 people in to park in two hours.
2:17p
Posted using sms_to_lj...
and no, we can't hear the show out here.
4:18p
Posted using sms_to_lj...
wtf. bill gates? shame i'm not nearer the stage. tickets didn't say no high powered rifles....
4:18p
Posted using sms_to_lj...
elton john at least not too bad. saturday night hopefully not alright for fighting, unless streets really that crowded...
4:18p
Posted using sms_to_lj...
finally got in to park at 1434 and into actual gig area at 1452. first audible song was bittersweet symphony, my least favourite song ever.
4:18p
Posted using sms_to_lj...
sorry about the delayed updates, folks, mobile reception is spotty at best where we're sitting.
4:35p
Posted using sms_to_lj...
crowd not really going wild for ms dynamite - kofi annan got a much better, if slightly bemused, reception.
5:15p
Posted using sms_to_lj...
philadelphia now with us but inaudibly quiet. i'm sure will smith is fascinating...
5:46p
Posted using sms_to_lj...
rumour has it that all t-shirts here sold out. not bad going if true. travis are going down well.
7:26p
Posted using sms_to_lj...
i rather wish the helicopters would stop circling overhead! i guess they're filming but it's like being at a crime scene :-)

apparently everything is running about an hour late. i'm sure live aid didn't have these troubles...
8:52p
Posted using sms_to_lj...
living on a prayer - from the us - and good vibrations - from berlin - going down well. could live without snoop dogg, i think.
8:52p
Posted using sms_to_lj...
still having mobile issues - allegedly the networks all put in temporary towers for today, but network's still toss.
8:53p
Posted using sms_to_lj...
we could really do with more info. the screens are telling us where the feeds are from but not who they are!
8:54p
Posted using sms_to_lj...
why have the killers only done one song and that not the really good one? grumble!
8:54p
Posted using sms_to_lj...
numbers appear to be thinning out a bit - i suppose those coming from out of town probably would have had trouble staying later.
8:56p
Posted using sms_to_lj...
note to self - razorlight are quite good and probably worth buying some of their stuff.
8:57p
Posted using sms_to_lj...
