(no subject)

A discussion over dinner tonight led to rotwang and I attempting to list the best cricketing songs from the recent Ashes series. Discarding the obvious (Bowie's Ashes To Ashes, Chris Isaak's Wicket Game and Billy Preston and Syreeta's duet With You I'm Vaughan Again), the tortuous (Stealer's Wheel: Slips to the left of me, square leg to the right; here I am, stuck in the middle with you; Frankie Valli's Crease) and the surreal (Public Image Ltd's Single, and Van Halen's anthemic Ump), we've decided that our favourite track would be that well-known discussion of Ricky Ponting's dislike for substitute fielders: Quo's Bowl Over, Lay Down.
