GenCon is, so far, going very well. The journey from Chicago to Indy on Wednesday was a bit epic -- bad traffic around Chicago, a diversion off I-65, and a sat-nav that dropped a bollock just when we ran out of diversion signs, leaving us continuing our navigation by an A4 sheet with a map of the Mid-West on it.

Luckily, the car rental desk at Indy airport managed to sort out the sat-nav (fuse had gone in the in-car charger) and we managed to get into town yesterday morning in time to pick up our tickets before our first game. (Let's just not think too hard about the insanely long day that was Wednesday.)

We've made a preliminary recce of the trade hall, visiting the guys from Dwarven Forge and buying five copies of Gamers: Dorkness Rising off the Dead Gentlemen. I note from their Twitter feed that they sold half their stock yesterday... guys, people have been WAITING for this. ;) We've also now found out where the Giant In The Playground guys are, so we'll swing by them today -- hopefully they won't have COMPLETELY sold out by the time we get there.

This is our long gaming day -- first game at 8am, last game finishes at midnight -- but at least our schedule actually has lunch and dinner breaks for once. (Well, trade hall and dinner breaks, but who's counting?)

We had dinner last night with anubisgrrl, davidt3001, chilledchimp and gbsteve, which was very pleasant -- hadn't seen any of them in a while (not even the two who live in the same country as us...)

Right; breakfast, then the drive into town, then some much-needed coffee and after that, let the games begin...
