Last night there was duck. Oh yes. Much, much duck, and also an elegant sufficiency of the house red wine. I think the nice folks at Oasis were pleased to see us; aside from a couple of takeaway customers, I have a sneaking suspicion that we may actually have been their only customers all evening. Still, a table of twelve hard-drinking souls probably did quite a bit for their night's figures. And we got free liqueurs (for those who were still drinking at that point) and fortune cookies ;)

I've finally finished sorting out a new roof for my car. It was fitted yesterday and looks the business. Glass rear window with a demister rather than the rather crap plastic that was there before.

The rest of the week hasn't really been a lot to write home - or indeed onto LJ - about. My sister continues to have a good time in Australia, including lots of diving, a parachute jump, and a day-trip around Cairns on Gus The Wonder Bus (the mind boggles). I finished the new Pratchett book at the weekend (well, okay, I started it at the weekend too) and was a little underwhelmed. It wasn't bad, as such, but it wasn't one of the classics. I'm half-way through Mercedes Lackey's Gates of Sleep at the moment.

Have been rewatching some of the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy TV series, and marvelling at the wondrous special effects *cough*. I had managed to forget, if indeed I'd ever known, that it included a naked Douglas Adams. Um.

And now, back to the wonders of checking a bunch of domain information. The excitement is killing me.

  • Gah -- "friends" page styles

Anyone know how to turn off LJ's new "feed" style friends pages? Do not want. I find my existing 25-entries-per-page to be much more manageable.

    Merry winter-festival-of-your-choice, all of you!

  • Gissa job...

No, no, not me, but a friend of mine is losing his retail job this coming Monday when the place where he works closes down. (Nice timing...) Anyone…
