Back in black

We're back - having celebrated a whole lot. Sheer luxury for two days, which I could get tremendously used to. Then a day pottering round Oxford, meeting friends for drinks and dinner and party afterwards. Lunch in the pub today.... I'd almost managed to forget about boxes ;)

Packing for a place where you need to change for dinner confuses my packing senses (and for once I am talking about clothes rather than boxes). I suddenly find I need to take at least twice as many sets of things as I am used to, plus all that girly crap like tights, different pairs of shoes, and so on. It's not that I mind dressing up when the occasion requires it - but it really does have to require it! - but it can be so much like hard work. Still, the end result (and the occasion) was worth it.

Got back home about three, bathroom still a work in progress so we headed back to the old place to try to do something about its garden (napalm was rather tempting). Cut the lawn, pulled up brambles, trimmed bushes, found new homes for a couple of frogs which had been happily living in some long grass alongside the fence - it doesn't look quite so abandoned now. I'll have to go back during the week sometime with frog-friendly weedkiller and some better shears to finish off.

Edwina Currie and John Major had an affair? You know, everyone has reacted the same way. "Eeeeewwwwww...."

  • Gah -- "friends" page styles

Anyone know how to turn off LJ's new "feed" style friends pages? Do not want. I find my existing 25-entries-per-page to be much more manageable.

    Merry winter-festival-of-your-choice, all of you!

  • Gissa job...

No, no, not me, but a friend of mine is losing his retail job this coming Monday when the place where he works closes down. (Nice timing...) Anyone…
